ENTSO-E’s vision positions Europe to become the first climate-neutral continent by 2050, ensuring the electricity system remains secure, sustainable, affordable, and capable of integrating vast renewable energy supplies in line with the European Green Deal. Its dual mission comprises: Preparing the power system for carbon neutrality. Managing a power system that remains secure, efficient, and competitive for European consumers and markets. TThis example brings real-time electricity prices into your automation system, letting you display today’s, yesterday’s, and tomorrow’s rates. Use this data to automate high-energy tasks—like EV charging or heating—during cheaper periods, cutting costs and boosting efficiency. Powered by ENTSO-E’s API.

API preparation

Before downloading the example, create a free account on Entso trasparency website, check the link on top for the dashboard. The same login credentials are used in main HTTP node under username and password. A simple email with "Restful API access" with request for their API activation to their official address: transparency@entsoe.eu needs to be sent and once the request is approved, additional features, including generating the API key will be available on the dashboard. Press the "Generate a new token" button on the dashboard and generate a new API token, make sure this token is saved. Each time the generate token is pressed, a new token will be generated.
