Integration of Schneider EVlink Pro AC charging station using Modbus TCP

DOWNLOAD

EVlink Pro AC 3rd generation charging stations provide reliable, adaptable, and sustainable smart charging with enhanced safety to maximize uptime, ensuring a seamless user experience for drivers and installers. They are intended for semi-public parking lots in commercial and industrial buildings, company vehicle fleets, and residential complexes. Simple and secure installation, management, monitoring, and maintenance with digital capabilities and enhanced safety

Device preparation

EVlink Pro AC Modbus interface can be used to limit the charging power of the charging station. This limitation is managed as follows: The external system writes current setpoint at address 4004. The maximum current setpoint sent by the charging station to the vehicle is limited by this value. Any setpoint change is considered with max. delay of 15 seconds. Additionally, in case of communication loss between the charging station and the external system, a default current limitation is applied: this limitation is set by writing register 4005 for single phase charging, and 4006 for triphase charging. The Server ID is 255.

Configuration

Download the example from our website and import it into your configuration. Step by step instructions on how to import are available in our instructional video.

This example demonstrates how to obtain comprehensive information from the Schneider EVlink Pro AC EV charging station. The charging station's current status, OCPP status, the presence of the EV with current measurements are transmitted to bOS, which provides notifications regarding charging progress, potential issues, and charging-related problems. Additionally, measurement data, including power, current, and voltage can be logged for further analysis. Customized message tasks can be created to inform the client of any defects in the charging station or when the car's being charged using the charging station. Ensure that you provide the local address of the Modbus TCP server accurately. If the data is not being received correctly, try modifying the Address Offset function under the main Modbus node or check the slave address. If all settings are correct, the charging station data should be transmitted to bOS. Example also comes with a visualization panel with all available functions for the charging station panels can be copied to the theme and used in the Client app.
